A Residual Income Stream Is Your Path to Financial Independence

With the economy imploding, investment houses and banks struggling to stay afloat and home foreclosures mounting into the tens of thousands, it is little wonder that all of us are beginning to question our financial futures. Who wouldn't take advantage of an additional income source just in case? Can you imagine the peace of mind if you knew you could depend on a residual income stream for you and your family?

There are opportunities available for anyone willing to take advantage of them. Over the past two decades the Internet has become a part of everyone's life. Because of that, it has also become a wealth-generating opportunity. What prevents most people from taking the plunge into online marketing is the misconception that you have to be a computer whiz to be a success. Nothing could be further from the truth.

All it takes to set up your own online marketing system is your time and effort and a minimal investment. If you look for Internet marketing opportunities, you will instantly get a list of hundreds if not thousands of companies and articles to research. Spend as much time as you need to in order to go through some of the recommendations. It won't be time wasted. You will also get an idea of the volume these lists represent. It's not just the vast array of products that can become part of your marketing line, but the numbers of people interested in the concepts involved.

Exactly how many people engage in entrepreneurial online marketing is hard to pinpoint, but the reason they do so is easy to know. The promise of online marketing is the real potential for establishing residual income streams that can continue paying off months, years or even decades. Imagine the luxury of eventually saying good-bye to your employer and devoting your work hours to your own home-based online marketing business. Imagine being able to work as many or as few hours as you wish and still receiving residual income checks every week or month. You get to spend time with your family, build your bank account, take vacations and maybe even build that dream house you've always wanted.

You probably still have questions about how this all works. The kind of business you choose to go into is up to you. In fact you may decide to run more than one business. The mechanics of setting up your business is much less complicated than you might imagine. It is really true that you do not have to be a computer whiz in order to get your business up and running. The reason for that is there are computer whizzes out there who will do it for you. Most businesses that you may want to affiliate with will set you up with your own website. They do the technical work for you. They will provide instructions and a game plan for you to follow. They also offer technical support to iron out any glitches or answer any questions. It can take less than half an hour for your website to be ready to go.

You do need to put in some time and effort in order to succeed. But once you have done the work, once the website is operational and you have put in the effort to start bringing business your way, you will be well positioned for your residual income stream to kick in.

If your website is promoting a product, you don't have to build a new marketing plan and a new website for every sale. That is the beauty of residual income systems. You do the work once and continue generating income from it thereafter. Depending on what your marketing plan is, your residual income stream may in fact be several streams. Or if you have more than one business website, you can depend on multiple income streams.

Anyone who has successfully established an online marketing business will tell you that you can succeed. A lot of successful marketers with fantastic residual income streams started out where you are now with little computer knowledge and lots of drive. They will be the first to tell you that if they can succeed, so can you. They will also tell you that the reason most people do not succeed is because they don't follow the advice and instruction they are given when they become affiliates. Lack of follow through is the number one reason for failure.

But if you know that going in, you can avoid making that mistake. Establishing your own business and establishing a residual income stream can be your road to financial independence.

Before you can have a successful home based business, you must first possess 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

 ===> Intangible 1 <===

First, you must have a strong WHY.

Why MUST you have a successful Work from Home Based Business? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box (laptop computer) that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in a home based business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to have a successful home based business or make your living from home, you won't. It's that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money working from home. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money working from home. Just get online and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money with your own home based business.

I've always said that "affiliate marketing" (a simple way to make money from home) is the job of the future. In the "old" days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. In fact, making money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.

Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with a home based business.

That's backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is that home based business success is a moving target... The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.

The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start a home based business. You simply have to start one. It's like having children... You're never really ready, but when it happens you adapt and grow. This is what I call "Making the Leap."

The good news is that the cost of failure with having your own home based business is very small. In the "brick and mortar" world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100.
